Vaughn Martin

Vaughn Martin received a B.S. in Education in 1986. He taught grade 4 for 2 years at the Frank Jewett School in Buxton, Maine. He then taught for 17 years at the Easton Elementary School in Easton, Maine. While there he taught grade 4 for 7 years and grade 4,5, and 6 Science for 10 years. Mr. Martin now teaches Science to all age levels here at the Science Center. He has been the Nature Educator for 4 years.

In 1997 Mr. Martin received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching. In 2002 he received the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award.

Mr. Martin is also the Assistant Pastor at Easton Wesleyan Church where he oversees the student ministries. He resides in Easton with his wife Laurie, and daughter Katrina. Katrina is a nature photographer, like her grandfather Leo Nadeau. Examples of their work are displayed at the Science Center. His daughter Valerie has a degree in Art and resides in North Carolina with her husband Ryan Carmer. Valerie painted nature murals on the walls at the Science Center.
